FAQs

Do I have to bake or air dry the clay?

All of our kits contain a high-quality modeling clay, which never hardens completely, nor does it require baking, or to be air-dried. It is an amazing clay, that will hold its color and shape for many years. We love modeling clay for its consistency and vibrant colors.

How long does it take to complete an Art Party Boss Clay Kit?

The time of time it takes to complete a kit will depend on the kit chosen and the person creating it. Some creators enjoy perfecting the details and adding texture longer than others, but the general time range is 30-60 minutes.

Why is purchasing an Art Party Boss Kit better than just buying art supplies and letting my kids use them?

Here are a few reasons to consider:

1. It's economical. It would be a challenge to recreate the contents of the kit for less than the purchase price. Seriously. Plus the time it saves you in accumulating materials and planning a project is considerable. Leave it to us to get your child creating!

2.   Kids innately want to be creative but they don't always know what to make or how to do it. They end up losing interest and not doing anything at all, leaving them discouraged and eventually giving up on art altogether. Providing a stimulating, directed activity will spur their creativity and develop skills.

3.   Every kit is planned in great detail, referencing the techniques and methods that were most successful in my after-school program and art studio that reached 1000’s of kids over the course of 12 years.

This looks too hard for my child. Will they really be able to make the craft?

Yes! Absolutely. Take a look at the projects carefully. What do you see? If you break it down, you will notice that every project is made up of a series of basic shapes, put together in a well-designed order for each sculpture. If they are a beginner, their shapes may not be as smooth or as exact as the sample, but with practice, as in all things, their sculptures will become more precise.

The kits are fun, easy, and challenging at the same time, offering structure but leaving room for individual creativity.

Do I need to help my child with the craft?

No, you do not need to help, but I often hear adults say what a fun shared experience it was!  You may want to help them understand a technique or term in the directions, but overall this can be a self-directed activity for ages 5 and older, with basic reading skills.

What ages are the kits for?

Generally speaking, the kits are designed for ages 5 and older. But I do have plenty of 4-year-olds having a great experience with the help and supervision of an adult. Tweens and teens also love the kits and can put their unique spin on the projects. And, just to be clear, "5 and older" means adults too! Did you know there is a secret group of adults who purchase the kits for themselves?? Yep! They speak in hushed whispers and tell me that the kits are actually for them. Art is for everyone!

Warning: Choking Hazard - Most or all of our Kits contain small parts not suitable for children less than three (3) years of age. Adult Supervision Required.

Are the supplies safe for kids?

Absolutely! Safety for everyone involved is a priority. All the items in the kits are purchased from well known and reputable brands. The paints are acrylic; a non-toxic, water-based product that is easy to clean with soap and water and without the need of any toxic cleaning chemicals. The clay we use is certified non-toxic, sulfur-free, paraben-free, latex-free.

Who creates the kits?

I personally design the projects, directions, and graphics.
I love every stage of the process and always have 10-15 projects in some stage of development. But I do want to give a shout out to the amazing teachers/artists who have worked for me in my Studio and in my after school program. While I was busy with the class descriptions, proposals, schedules, and all the endless tasks of running a business, they were the glue that held it all together. Thank you, Tracy Giza, Danielle Stibal, and Kim Goodness, & Jeanette Medial.
